Sarit Michaeli
I was born in Israel, on may 23,1987. In Israel I was worked as a beautician. After a period I decided that I wanted to take a break from everything and change direction in my life. My sister recommended me to be Au-pair in America as she did when she was in my age and she said that it was an amazing experience for her. I decided that I wanted to do this because all my life I was dreamed of living in America and now I'm here and I have the opportunity to work, study and improve my English ,travel ,meet people and different cultures. I live in New York for 7 months and I love it . This is one of the most amazing experiences of my live. I'm glad I study in Colombia and I'm learning with amazing people and especially with lovely teachers.

Stereotypes
People from all over the word have a stereotype about the Americans people.
They stereotype Americans as eating a lot of junk food and eating large meals. I came to the U.S to be an au-pair and I have noticed that it is true that Americans like to eat large meals and fast food like potato chips, burgers and fries from fast food place such as mecdonalds and burger king. However, I have also noticed that there are many Americans that like to eat healthy foods and control the amount or size there meals. For example, the family that I live with now try as much as possible to eat healthy foods like sushi, vegetables and fruits and also teach kids the same.
Another stereotype and the most popular stereotype of Americans is that they are materialistic. They look at what you do, what you wear, the kind of car you drive, where you live. It seams that their status in society is based on how much money you have. I also have noticed this first hand with some Americans, I heard someone say to a friend “where did you buy that in Target?” I can’t say that this is true for all Americans as I have friend that are is down to earth and doesn’t care and judge about the kind of car you drive or how much money you have. There are stereotype all over the world and you will hear a lot of rumors and stereotype, but it is better to see it and experience it for yourself, as I have. To stereotype people as whole without getting to know them is not the right thing to do. It is better to find out for yourself than to believe or trust the popular opinion. In conclusion, don’t judge a book by its cover.
